US Nielsen December Data: Overall Vape Market Down 9.9%, Vuse Holds No.1 Spot with 42% Share
December's Nielsen convenience store data shows that British American Tobacco's brand Vuse maintained a market share of 42% in December, while the market share of the second-ranked JUUL dropped from 24.3% to 24.2%.
According to recent reports from American media Journalnow, the latest Nielsen convenience store data indicates that British American Tobacco's brand Vuse maintained a market share of 42% in December, while the market share of Juul decreased from 24.3% to 24.2%. Altria Group's NJoy remained unchanged at 2.6%, and Imperial Brands' blu also held steady at 1.2%.
It is noteworthy that the entire e-cigarette category declined by 9.9%.
The Nielsen report primarily covers large chain stores, and R.J. Reynolds Vapor Co. and Altria Group are urging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to increase enforcement against "illegal" nicotine e-cigarettes in the U.S. e-cigarette market.
Both companies estimate that these illegal products account for about half of the U.S. e-cigarette market.
