Korean artist Haechan has been fined for smoking indoors, raising concerns among fans. SM Entertainment has apologized and will cover the fine. Haechan may suspend his work.
According to a report by Korean media outlet Koreaboo on January 11, Korean artist Haechan was recently accused of smoking indoors. Smoking in public places is prohibited in South Korea, and violators face fines, which has caused unease among fans.
Again, SM Entertainment acknowledged Haechan's mistake through a media statement and stated that he will pay the corresponding fine.
The statement said: We deeply apologize for Haechan's reckless behavior that caused public concern. In the dance training video released on January 10 by the 127 team, we confirmed that Haechan used a vaping device indoors. Today, we received a fine notice from the relevant health department regarding this issue, and we will pay it in full. At the same time, we will take special care to ensure that such issues do not occur in the future.
Subsequent reports indicate that Haechan may suspend his work for a break.
