Chill Brands announces vaping product launch and steps to address regulatory scrutiny

Key point: Chill Brands Group announced it will launch vape products in retail stores and take multiple steps to ease regulatory scrutiny.

On Wednesday, Chill Brands Group announced that its e-cigarette products will soon be available in retail stores, including WH Smith Group travel locations, and reported a series of initiatives to address regulatory scrutiny.

The CBD product company stated that it is in the process of fulfilling a "large number of purchase orders" received in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The company added that its Chill ZERO nicotine-free e-cigarette products will debut this month at WH Smith travel locations, revealing that Morrisons is one of the top five UK supermarkets that signed a purchase order with them last month.

Additionally, the product will launch this month at Shell, BP, and Esso-branded gas stations. Esso is a subsidiary of ExxonMobil.

Chill Brands, based in Colorado, USA, further stated: "These products will also be promoted in Smoker Friendly stores across nine states in the US. The company will continue to develop its distribution network for independent stores while providing services to existing customers, supporting sales velocity through new point-of-sale displays, outdoor advertising, and other marketing activities."

"Discussions are ongoing regarding the launch of Chill e-cigarette products in specific European markets, and the company expects to make significant progress early next year."

Chill Brands added that there is "significant retail demand" for more Chill brand e-cigarette products.

"Therefore, the company is developing a range of additional reusable and rechargeable products while formulating a rapid go-to-market plan for these series expansions," the company stated.

The company also mentioned that in the face of some regulatory scrutiny in the e-cigarette market, it is taking "proactive measures." Chill Brands stated that it is "considering how to effectively balance the positive impact of vaping as a harm reduction tool with the need to protect children and the environment."

The company will participate in a recycling program to encourage retailers to "promote responsible disposal of e-cigarette products."

The company will also conduct compliance checks, focusing on ensuring that retailers are verifying the age of individuals purchasing e-cigarette products.

Additionally, Chill Brands will engage in "thoughtful design and flavor selection."

"Chill products are intended solely for adult consumers, and the company will continue to adhere to this strategy in all future product launches. The company will not introduce any products with inappropriate flavors (such as candy) or design elements that reflect childish themes," it added.

"The company will continue to collaborate with its partners, industry organizations, and regulatory bodies to help develop a responsible and prudent e-cigarette industry that provides a true alternative to tobacco products."

The company's stock price rose 4.1% on Wednesday morning in London, reaching 5.10 pence per share.
