Kazakhstan Economy Minister: A Vaping Ban Would Not Cause Major Revenue Loss
Kazakhstan's Minister of National Economy, Alibek Kuantyrov, stated that if a ban on electronic cigarettes and disposable products is implemented, Kazakhstan's economy would not suffer significant revenue loss.
The department head did not provide specific figures but emphasized the need for a thorough analysis before implementing any ban.
"In fact, their (electronic cigarettes) turnover, I believe, is not that large. However, when introducing any ban, it is necessary to properly assess the risks. Not only for the economy but for society as a whole. If you continuously impose bans on everyone, there is a rampant risk of smuggling. We do not oppose the ban; we have already expressed our views on this matter, and we have agreed to analyze the regulatory impact. It is just that the Ministry of Health needs to conclude this issue," Alibek Kuantyrov stated in an interview with reporters.
