Use Vaping Devices to Help Quit or Stop Smoking Directly? That’s the Question

The holiday season is approaching, which means family gatherings and New Year's resolutions. One common resolution is to quit smoking. Tobacco is harmful to health and finances, but for 6.5 million smokers, quitting is a tough battle. Some say quitting is easy; they have done it several times.

If the number of smokers decreases, it will benefit the National Health Service (NHS) and also reduce the related diseases caused by secondhand smoke for non-smokers.
For many smokers who find it hard to quit, e-cigarettes are an alternative option. Many friends and relatives have found that e-cigarettes are the best choice for quitting smoking.
Not smoking or using e-cigarettes is obviously better, but e-cigarettes are 95% safer than traditional smoking and more economical, which is particularly important for many facing a cost-of-living crisis.

E-cigarettes are a practical method, and I advocate for ensuring that e-cigarettes are as safe as possible. This includes recycling disposable e-cigarettes, addressing youth vaping issues, and concerns about government taxation on e-cigarettes.

I support research and development to make e-cigarettes safer and more environmentally friendly, and I oppose illegal products, especially those aimed at attracting children to use e-cigarettes.
Banning disposable e-cigarettes is not the answer to preventing children from using e-cigarettes. We need stricter regulations on unscrupulous companies and retailers. However, for those with lower incomes living in communities with the highest smoking rates, disposable e-cigarettes are the most affordable option.
