Turkish Police Seize 31 Smuggled E-Cigarettes, Arrest 14 Suspects
Police in Batman, Turkey, successfully detained 14 suspects in an anti-smuggling operation, seized a large quantity of smuggled goods, and initiated legal proceedings against them.
According to a breaking report from Turkey’s IHA news agency, police in Batman recently arrested 14 suspects during an operation targeting smuggling activities.
According to a statement issued by the Batman Provincial Government, after receiving a tip-off, police carried out simultaneous anti-smuggling raids at multiple locations across the city to prevent smuggling activities in the city center.
Follow-up investigation results showed that police seized 2,519 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 20 smuggled mobile phones and chargers, 16 smuggled watches, 29 kilograms of hookah tobacco, 31 e-cigarettes, and 100 smuggled cigars during the operation.
Meanwhile, the 14 suspects were released after completing procedures at the police station, and legal action has been taken against them under Anti-Smuggling Law No. 5607.
