Gwent Police in the UK Crack Down on Illegal Cigarette Trade

  The Gwent Police in the UK successfully dismantled a large illegal cigarette network in Newport city center.

According to Yahoo News on December 11, the Gwent Police successfully conducted a large-scale operation against illegal cigarettes, achieving significant results in Newport city center, forcing a large number of illegal cigarettes off the streets.

The police mobilized personnel to conduct a thorough search on Commercial Road in Newport. After detailed inspections of three properties and four vehicles, they achieved encouraging results.

Community policing officers from the Pier area worked closely with the Newport City Council's Trading Standards Department to ensure the success of this operation. A large quantity of illegal cigarettes and tobacco was successfully seized and immediately removed from all the aforementioned locations.

The successful news was announced by the Newport officer of the Gwent Police on the X social platform (formerly Twitter) at 3:45 PM, marking a heavy blow to the illegal cigarette network and demonstrating the police's determination to protect public health and maintain public order.
