KT&G Donates 5 Million Won to Support Public Welfare Program for the Visually Impaired
According to Korea’s Wikitree News, KT&G’s Jeollanam-do headquarters donated 5 million won to Yeonggwangwon, a welfare institution for the visually impaired, to help them find joy through travel, relieve stress, and restore physical and mental balance. KT&G also said it will continue paying close attention to social issues and actively participate in public welfare initiatives.
Wikitree reported on December 4 that KT&G’s Jeollanam-do headquarters donated 5 million won through its in-house charitable organization, the “Imagination Fund,” with the donation dedicated to supporting people with visual impairments.
The “Imagination Fund” is KT&G’s signature social contribution fund launched in 2011. Employees voluntarily donate part of their monthly salaries, and the company matches those contributions to better serve local communities and help neighbors in need.
In addition, KT&G’s Jeollanam-do headquarters has made charitable donations in several other areas, including scholarships for talent development, improving housing conditions for vulnerable groups, providing heating fuel support, and sharing kimchi at year-end.
