Philip Morris International (PMI) has appointed Kurnia Adhi Sulistyawan as Director of Manufacturing for its Romanian plant, while PMI Romania has announced that it will make an additional investment of more than $130 million in order to increase its production capacity.

PMI Romania's tobacco plant in Otopeni, which began in 1997, produces more than 92% of the IQOS equipment that is exported to 54 markets on five continents.
Kurnia was reportedly promoted from production manager to manufacturing director, overseeing all operations at PMI Romania's headquarters. At the same time, PMI Romania announced more than $130 million in additional investments to increase production capacity, advance Romania's export growth, and accelerate the transition to a smoke-free environment.
Philip Morris International currently operates in Romania through two entities: Philip Morris Trading (commercial division) and Philip Morris Romania (production division).
