Smoore has responded to the UK legislative consultation, supporting the protection of minors by no longer collaborating with brands that use flavors, packaging, or product designs that appeal to children and teenagers. Currently, the UK government is consulting on the issue of e-cigarettes, focusing on addressing youth usage of e-cigarettes.

According to a report from Vaporvoice on December 4, e-cigarette manufacturer Smoore announced that it will no longer collaborate with brands that use flavor names, packaging, or product designs that attract teenagers. The UK government is currently consulting on the issue of e-cigarettes, focusing on addressing youth usage of e-cigarettes.

Smoore's press release stated that the company aims to stop using child-friendly flavor names such as cotton candy, gummy bears, watermelon bubblegum, and blueberry popsicle. Similarly, the company also wishes to cease the production and sale of "invisible products" designed to resemble school supplies, toys, beverages, or cartoon characters.

Smoore has developed a list of flavors it considers suitable for teenagers and has created a flavor testing group to monitor new flavors that may be deemed appealing to young people in the market.

“The e-cigarette industry represents the best opportunity to eradicate smoking in history, and we cannot let this opportunity go to waste,” said Smoore's Strategic Director Rex Zhang. “E-cigarettes were invented for this purpose, and we need to ensure they focus on the adult smoking market.

Every company under Smoore is required to conduct self-regulatory reviews to ensure that its products or the customers of its OEM and ODM businesses are not perceived as producing products that appeal to teenagers.

The current flavor list includes:

  •  Skittles

  • Rainbow

  • Cotton Candy

  • Donut

  • Gummy Bear

  • Bubblegum

  • Slushy

  • Starburst

  • Pink Pop

  • Ice Cream

  • Milkshake

  • Popsicle

  • Starry Violet

  • Reindeer

  • Snow

  • Christmas

  • Fruit Smash

  • Dr Reptile

  • Sour Patch

  • Oreo

  • Jolly

If Smoore finds that a brand owner's products are deemed to be aimed at children, Smoore will work with the company to take corrective measures immediately. If no action is taken, Smoore may ultimately terminate all cooperation with that brand.

The statement also proposed establishing a "no-fly list" for global retail and distribution companies, listing manufacturers of child-friendly products to prevent their products from being sold; calling for more standardization of product sizes and shapes. The company believes that standardization will help in the rapid "disassembly" of waste disposal, aiding in improving product recycling rates; calling for random sampling of each batch of disposable e-cigarettes and pod-based e-cigarettes to check for compliance, and rejecting entire batches if any non-compliant products are found.
