Global E-Cigarette Industry Weekly Report (11.27-12.03)

This week's report includes key news from the global e-cigarette industry from November 27 to December 3.
[1] On November 28, Australian Health Minister Mark Butler announced that starting January 2024, disposable e-cigarettes will be banned in Australia; from January 2024, Australian doctors and nurses will have the authority to prescribe e-cigarettes for patients, who can purchase them at pharmacies; starting March 2024, personal imports of e-cigarettes will be banned; and starting March 2024, the import of non-therapeutic open-system e-cigarettes will be prohibited.
[2] France announced plans to raise the minimum price of cigarettes to 13 euros starting in 2026 and to ban the sale of disposable e-cigarettes, aiming to create a "smoke-free generation" by 2032.
[3] New Zealand has repealed smoking regulations, threatening global anti-smoking efforts. Documents show that the new coalition government will only tax smoking products and reform regulations for alternatives like e-cigarettes, including banning disposable e-cigarettes and implementing stricter penalties for selling e-cigarettes to minors.
[4] Recently, the UK government’s official website released a consultation report mentioning the most popular e-cigarette brands and the average prices of e-cigarettes in the market.
[5] Russia will ban the circulation of unlabelled e-cigarettes and related products starting December 1, strengthening the management of tobacco product circulation.
[6] On November 21, at the 2023 Guangdong Province Top 500 Manufacturing Summit held in Foshan, the "2023 Guangdong Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises Research Report" was released. Seven companies involved in e-cigarette production were selected, including: Changying Precision, Flextronics, Mecwell, Yinghe Technology, Jinjia Co., Ltd., Jier Technology, and Heyuan Technology.
[7] ELFBAR's e-cigarette recycling advertisement in the UK was criticized by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for being misleading due to complaints from companies like Imperial Brands, and it has been banned. In response, ELFBAR stated to the two above that it respects the ASA's decision and has taken measures to ensure stricter self-regulation in advertising and marketing.
[8] E-cigarette brands ELFBAR and LOST MARY announced they will abandon flavors that attract minors and call on the UK government to introduce a licensing system.
[9] Turkish authorities seized 275,520 e-cigarettes and 35.2 kilograms of cocaine, marking the largest single seizure of e-cigarettes in history.
[10] BAT Korea is expected to sell Vuse Go 800 e-cigarettes throughout South Korea, and PMI may launch new e-cigarette products in the future.
[11] E-cigarette brand MONS will launch new disposable e-cigarettes MONS BILLOW BLACK and MONS BILLOW WHITE on December 6.
[12] E-cigarette brand LOST MARY will launch the MO10000, a high-capacity e-cigarette, entering the Philippine market.
