PMI Accelerates Global Strategy as IQOS Enters Multiple Emerging Markets
Recently, Philip Morris International (PMI) launched its heated tobacco product IQOS ILUMA in several emerging markets globally and introduced a limited edition of the innovatively designed IQOS ILUMA STARDRIFT in several mature markets.<\/p>
In emerging markets, PMI has introduced IQOS ILUMA in seven different countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, including Bulgaria, Malaysia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Guatemala, and Morocco. Notably, Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria are located in Southeast Europe, very close to PMI's factory in Italy.<\/p>

Meanwhile, IQOS ILUMA STARDRIFT has also been launched in some mature markets such as South Korea, Spain, and Romania.<\/p>

PMI is also focusing on the U.S. market, having submitted a premarket tobacco application (PMTA) and a modified risk tobacco product application (MRTPA) for IQOS ILUMA to the FDA in late October, preparing for the official launch of the product in the U.S. market.<\/p>

Additionally, PMI is applying to register the trademarks "VEEV One Ultra" and "VEEV Now Ultra" with the Korean Patent Office, indicating that the company may plan to launch its vaping products VEEV in Korea in the future.<\/p>

In its latest quarterly report, PMI announced that it has achieved a net revenue exceeding $9 billion for the first time, with the success of IQOS being a major contributing factor. The report indicated that shipments of heated tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) increased by 18% compared to the previous quarter. PMI continues to drive innovation and market expansion to support the company's performance globally. <\/p>
