Vaping spreads in Ho Chi Minh City as schools and government work together to stop youth use
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, vaping has become rampant, prompting schools to take strict measures to prevent students from using it.
According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Disease Control Center, e-cigarettes are rapidly gaining popularity among young people due to their stylish designs, ease of use, and novel flavors, which lead them to overlook health risks. E-cigarette manufacturers employ carefully crafted advertising and sales strategies to attract young consumers, even hiring influencers on social media to promote their products.
A principal from the Kim He Municipal High School in Ho Chi Minh City stated that the school is implementing a series of measures to prevent students from using e-cigarettes, including monitoring student activities on campus, conducting regular anti-smoking campaigns, and even collaborating with the police for anti-smoking promotions, imposing strict disciplinary actions on students who violate smoking regulations.
