The Evanston City Council in Illinois voted to ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products starting in the spring of 2024, while also raising utility fees and delaying the final decision on the city budget.
Recently, according to Dailynorthwestern, the Evanston City Council voted to ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products starting in the spring of 2024, while also raising utility fees and delaying the final decision on the city budget.
The council passed the ban on flavored tobacco products with a vote of 6-3, which will take effect on April 1, prohibiting the sale of all flavored tobacco products, although some council members called for certain products to be exempt from the ban.
Council member Melissa Wynne told the Daily News, "If we only ban vaping devices, tobacco companies are already researching new products. The truly comprehensive approach is to ban all flavors."
