Northern Ireland Public Health Agency encourages public feedback on smokefree generation policy

The Public Health Agency of Northern Ireland welcomes public feedback on the smokefree generation policy and encourages residents of Northern Ireland to participate in policy feedback.

Recently, according to foreign media 4ni, the Public Health Agency (PHA) of Northern Ireland welcomed the public consultation on the progress of the smokefree generation policy across the UK.

On October 4, the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) released a command paper titled "Stopping the Start: Our New Plan for a Smokefree Generation," aimed at preventing future generations from suffering from smoking by creating the first 'smokefree generation.'

The PHA welcomes this public consultation across the UK—'Creating a Smokefree Generation and Addressing Youth Vaping Issues: Your Views'—and encourages people of all ages in Northern Ireland to voice their opinions by submitting feedback. This consultation will last until December 6, 2023, at 23:59.
