News flash: Based on updated trade data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, 2Firsts has compiled statistics on China’s vaping product exports to Germany in September 2023. Details are as follows:

Export value was approximately US$65.93 million, down 17.83% month-on-month and down 8.29% year-on-year.

Export volume was approximately 1,073 tons, up 6.98% month-on-month and up 69.44% year-on-year.

The export unit price was US$61.47/kg, down 23.18% month-on-month and down 45.87% year-on-year; the average price of “electronic cigarettes and similar personal electronic vaporizing devices” was US$23.59/unit.

Among them, “electronic cigarettes and similar personal electronic vaporizing devices” accounted for 43.38% of export categories, while “non-combustible products containing nicotine, without tobacco or reconstituted tobacco” accounted for 56.62%.

In addition, according to Statista forecasts, revenue in Germany’s vaping market is expected to reach US$1.1 billion in 2023; the market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 0.85% (CAGR 2023–2028). Based on the total population, per capita vaping consumption is projected at US$15.15. In recent years, vaping adoption in Germany has increased significantly, with more and more smokers using vaping products as an alternative to traditional tobacco products.
