Turkey Seized 600,000 Vaping Devices in 10 Months
In the first 10 months, the Customs Enforcement Department of Turkey’s Ministry of Trade seized smuggled goods worth 18.8 billion Turkish lira, involving petroleum, tobacco, vaping devices, food, and more.
According to a quick report by kibrisgazetesi on October 23, the results of anti-smuggling operations carried out by Turkey’s Ministry of Trade in the first 10 months of this year show that smuggled goods worth 18.8 billion Turkish lira have been seized.
The ministry’s customs enforcement teams also achieved notable results in combating commercial smuggling, with the value of seized smuggled goods in these operations reaching about 15.2 billion Turkish lira.
These smuggled goods included 870 tons of petroleum, 376 million tobacco tubes, 27 million cigarette filters, 605,000 vaping devices and accessories, 5.6 million cans of e-liquid, 900,000 packs of cigarettes, 4.348 million electronic products including mobile phones and accessories, 3,754 tons of food, 153,000 auto parts, 1.263 million medical devices, 440,000 garments, 801 tons of precious metals, 3,865 cultural relics, and 3,502 smuggled animals and plants covered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). None of these items were allowed to enter the country.
In total, anti-smuggling operations in the first 10 months of this year seized smuggled goods and narcotics worth 18.8 billion Turkish lira.
