RELX 6th Gen Zeus New Flavor: Fuliufeng Mountain Roast 63
Zeus new flavor: Fuliufeng Mountain Roast 63 (RELX pod)
First of all, I have to say Green Fan Yingying has been holding on all alone for nearly a year, and Zeus has finally released a new flavor!
Whether it’s “Fuliu” or not isn’t the point—people have been using Zeus-compatible pods for quite a while already. First impressions: a rich Chinese-style roasted tobacco aroma, average throat hit (always on the third power setting), and slightly less intensity than Green Fan Yingying. It’s blended with a wood-like fragrance and a faint hint of spice. There is some sweetness, but it doesn’t leave the tongue feeling sweet. The aftertaste has a slight beany and milky note (a little “miumiu” feeling—I’m not sure if it’s just my imagination; the moment I focus on it, it disappears). The draw is slightly airier than standard Zeus pods (because the heating core structure is different, RELX pods have slightly more draw resistance than Zeus pods). Overall it’s smooth, the vapor is dry, and the flavor is rich. At the moment, I personally feel the room aroma smells a bit better than the actual puffing experience. I’ll spend a few more days with it before doing a detailed review.
What is a RELX pod? It is a new Zeus-compatible pod using a RELX in-house developed cotton wick heating core, not an oil-core separated design (a horizontal heating core with layered cotton sheets on top; you can think of it as an enlarged version of the Qingyu cotton core). Once recognized by Zeus, it activates three power levels: 7W, 8W, and 9W. The advantage is that it’s inexpensive and there’s no need to wait for priming.
