Review of countries implementing e-cigarette-related bans in 2023: 3 in Europe, 2 in South America
As of now, in 2023, six countries have implemented bans on e-cigarettes and flavored additives, with two countries imposing e-cigarette bans and three countries implementing flavor bans.

Over the past few years, some countries and regions have taken measures to implement flavor bans on e-cigarettes to address health issues related to e-cigarettes and concerns about youth smoking.
According to regulations from various countries (regions), Two Supremes has compiled a list of countries and regions that have implemented e-cigarette flavor bans globally. As of now, in 2023, six countries have implemented bans on e-cigarettes and flavored additives, with two countries imposing e-cigarette bans and three countries implementing flavor bans.
Among these countries, there are three in Europe and two in South America.
The specifics are as follows:
Europe
The Netherlands' e-cigarette flavor ban will take effect next January
On June 28, the Dutch government decided to postpone the implementation of the e-cigarette flavor ban again, which will take effect on January 1, 2024.
Lithuania passes flavor ban
On June 29, Lithuanian lawmakers voted overwhelmingly in favor of the e-cigarette flavor ban, which is set to take effect next May.
Ukraine bans flavored e-cigarettes
On July 7, Ukraine announced a ban on flavored additives for e-cigarettes throughout the country.
South America
Venezuela completely bans e-cigarettes
On August 3, the Venezuelan health authority announced a decision to ban the use, manufacture, and import of e-cigarettes.
Suriname bans the sale of e-cigarettes
On August 28, Suriname announced a ban on all e-cigarette products, becoming one of the eight countries in South America to join the ban on novel tobacco products.
