UK Cracks Down on High-Puff E-Cigarettes for Four Straight Months, Logistics Providers Warn of Ongoi
The UK customs continue to strictly inspect high-puff e-cigarettes, and this has been ongoing for four months now.
Recently, e-cigarette logistics providers have reported that the UK is still conducting strict inspections of high-puff e-cigarettes.
According to UK law, only disposable e-cigarettes with a capacity of 2ml (approximately 600 puffs) are allowed for sale; any behavior exceeding this limit is considered illegal. However, high-puff e-cigarettes are still quite common in the UK market.
Since June, UK customs have begun joint inspections with the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) at airports, and products found are immediately confiscated, forcing many e-cigarette logistics companies previously engaged in "grey market" trade to cease operations.
According to an insider who has been involved in UK e-cigarette freight forwarding for a long time, the strict inspections of high-puff products have continued from June to October. The insider stated that while strict inspections occur intermittently, generally, there will be a few months of high-pressure enforcement followed by a few months of relaxation. However, once someone reports an issue, high-pressure enforcement will resume.
