Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has built a solid business presence in Greece, ranking No. 1 in the traditional cigarette category and No. 2 in the overall tobacco products market.
[Lianghe Zhishang Express] According to Naftemporiki, Charalambos Thamnidis, CFO of Japan Tobacco International (JTI), said in an interview that the company holds a commanding lead in Greece. Its brands Winston, Camel, and Old Holborn have long been popular in the local market, while traditional brands BF and GR also enjoy broad popularity in the region.
Japan Tobacco International entered Greece in 1981, and today JTI ranks first in traditional cigarettes and second in the tobacco products market. Since 2018, the company has further strengthened its production and sales position in Greece through its acquisition of tobacco manufacturer SEKAP.
“As a global business participant, JTI recognizes the importance of its business units to regional development and to the local communities in the countries where it operates. Modern production lines, continuous training, employee health and safety policies, and support for local society and the economy all pose challenges for maintaining high-quality production,” said JTI CFO Charalambos Thamnidis.
