The American Vaping Association (AVA) will cease operations. AVA President Gregory Conley shared the news in a letter to supporters.

According to an announcement released by the American Vaping Association (AVA) on October 12, the association will shut down. AVA President Gregory Conley conveyed the news in his letter.

Founded in 2014, AVA provided a platform for Conley’s tireless efforts to defend e-cigarettes and promote their legalization. He made himself—and AVA—the go-to source for mainstream media seeking the “vaper perspective.”

Conley wrote in his farewell letter:

“While this may be the end of AVA, our shared goal remains the same: ensuring that smokers have access to safer alternatives. Despite the challenges ahead, I remain hopeful about the future.”

After AVA dissolves, Conley will take a position with the American Vapor Manufacturers (AVM), speaking on behalf of its members. AVA’s remaining funds will be donated to the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association and to The Influence Foundation, which funds Filter’s online publication. AVM reportedly represents independent e-cigarette manufacturers across the United States and is committed to protecting the thriving vaping industry by providing support, representation, and participation in the federal regulatory process.
