KT&G, a South Korean company, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new factory in Kazakhstan, aiming to establish a production and innovation base in the Eurasian region to promote the sales of e-cigarettes and cigarettes in the global market. This move will enhance the company's competitiveness worldwide.

According to South Korean media Mbnmoney, KT&G has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory in Kazakhstan, with the goal of achieving its mid-to-long-term vision of becoming a top global brand and establishing a production innovation base in the Eurasian region. KT&G President Baek Bok-in, Almaty Region Governor Marat Ilosevich Jovitch, and over 70 key stakeholders, including the Consul General of South Korea in Almaty, Park Nae-tyun, attended the ceremony.

The new KT&G factory in Kazakhstan will promote the overseas sales of NGP (Next Generation Products) and CC (Cigarettes) in Europe, the CIS, and other Eurasian regions, covering a total area of approximately 200,000 square meters.

KT&G chose Kazakhstan as the cornerstone for its Eurasian business growth to enhance its global export competitiveness. Since establishing its sales and manufacturing company in Kazakhstan in January 2023, KT&G has been preparing to operate locally and plans to enhance its global business capabilities and profitability by establishing a complete chain management system from production to marketing and sales.

Previously, KT&G held a signing ceremony with the Indonesian Investment Ministry and received an investment application for building a new factory (export base) in East Java, Indonesia. After announcing the new factory in Indonesia as a production base for Southeast Asia, KT&G plans to position the new factory in Kazakhstan as the center for business growth on the Eurasian continent, focusing on achieving its future vision.

Baek Bok-in stated: “The new factory in Kazakhstan will serve as a global core production center covering the Eurasian market and will become a forward base for the group to achieve its future vision of becoming a top global enterprise.”
