According to foreign media reports, the American Vapor Association (AVA) has recently announced that it will cease operations. The association has been an advocacy organization representing vapor consumers and the independent industry for nearly 10 years. In a letter, Association President Gregory Conley wrote, "While this may be the end of AVA, our common goal remains: to ensure that smokers have access to safer alternatives. Although there will be difficult times ahead, I am hopeful for the future."Conley stated, "As many of you know, I took on a new role as the Legislative and External Affairs Director for the American Vapor Manufacturers (AVM) trade association back in July 2022. Since then, AVA has been in a state of suspension."After the dissolution of AVA, Conley will continue to serve in his role at AVM. The remaining funds of AVA will be donated to the Consumer Advocacy for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association and the Impact Foundation.
