The regulation of Brazil's vaping market could create over 100,000 jobs and drive significant economic growth. The Brazilian Senate will hold a public hearing on September 28 to discuss the potential regulation of the vaping market.

According to Veja on September 26, if Brazil can regulate the vaping market, it could have a major impact on the country's economy, providing approximately 115,000 new jobs. The regulation of Brazil's vaping market has the potential to create a salary base exceeding 20 billion reais (approximately 29.3 billion RMB) and generate about 673 million reais in revenue for public finances.

Research also indicates that whether domestic or imported products, if the vaping market is regulated, its annual sales could reach 16 billion reais.

In 2009, Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) announced a ban on e-cigarettes, putting the vaping market in an illegal state. However, according to IPEA data, approximately 2.2 million people in Brazil currently use e-cigarettes. Against this backdrop, the Brazilian Senate will hold a public hearing this Thursday, September 28, to discuss the potential regulation of the vaping market.
