Two Russian Residents Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Selling Unlabeled Tobacco Products

Breaking news from the official website of the Russian Nicotine Alliance on September 23: in Russia’s Rostov region, two local residents were convicted of selling unlabeled tobacco products. The court sentenced them to two years in prison and fined each of them 100,000 rubles.
“In 2021, the two defendants organized a distribution channel in the region for the large-scale illegal transportation of unlabeled tobacco products. During searches, nearly 140,000 packs of counterfeit tobacco products of well-known brands were seized, with a value of more than 27 million rubles,” the press service of the regional department of the Russian Federal Security Service said.
