Today I read the news that Indonesia's parliament has formally brought e-fogging into the realm of law, providing the e-fogging industry's commercial ecosystem with provides legal certainty, marking a renewed elevation of the status of e-fogging in Indonesia.

According to Indonesian media outlet viva, the Indonesian Parliament (DPR) passed Health Bill No. 17 of 2023 not long ago. The bill is seen as providing legal certainty for the e-nebulizer industry, a legal provision that puts e-nebulizer under the category of addictive substances. Benefiting the health of Indonesian smokers so they can turn to alternatives.  

What to look for:

1. This law also provides more freedom of choice for the population to identify alternative products under the protection of the law.

2. This law puts Indonesia on par with other countries that also have a legal framework on e-fogging.

3. It regulates the circulation and quality of electronic atomization for adult consumption only.

4. Includes e-atomization in the law as a solid and liquid tobacco product.

5. Legalized the players in the industry and also helped Indonesian smokers to find replaceable alternatives.

Teguh Basuki A Wibowo, Chairman of the Indonesian Alliance of Entrepreneurs for e-Nicotine Delivery (APPNINDO), for example, said, "The inclusion of e-atomization as a solid and liquid form of tobacco products not only legitimizes the industry players. With this policy, industry players will increasingly feel the legal certainty of doing business and investing in Indonesia."

The establishment of the legal sphere has led to the exhilaration of Indonesian participants. This is also a move to include e-cigarettes in the legal scope of legal status again after Indonesia first announced the legal importation of e-atomization in 2018. Recall that at that time, on July 1, 2018, Indonesia officially levied e-atomization tariffs, and on July 18, the Indonesian government officially issued the first e-atomization business license, Indonesia's e-atomization market was officially legalized.

Indonesia as one of the largest markets in Southeast Asia, and now also a large number of companies to enter Indonesia to participate in the electronic atomization market.
