Is Vietnam About to Introduce New Vaping Policies Again?
According to reports, a leader from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that most e-vapor products sold in Vietnam are smuggled, and there is currently no strict legal framework to control them.
Nguyen Hai Cong, head of the tuberculosis and lung disease department at 175 Military Hospital, pointed out: "There should be a legal framework to control these products to reduce smuggling, as e-vapor is becoming increasingly popular among young people and students."
Kieu Duong, head of the policy and legal department of the Vietnam Market Surveillance Authority, stated that many e-vapor smugglers have been arrested recently; in the first half of this year, 81 smugglers were caught in Hanoi, and approximately 20,000 items were confiscated. Recently, Hai Phong police seized 54,000 illegal products.
In summary, it is expected that the Vietnamese government will soon introduce a policy aimed at strengthening the crackdown on e-vapor smuggling.
Policy on the way: Opportunity or setback?
In recent years, the e-vapor industry has rapidly risen globally, while the issue of e-vapor smuggling has gradually become a global challenge. As a rapidly developing economy, Vietnam's e-vapor consumption market is also showing a trend of rapid growth. However, due to the existence of e-vapor smuggling, the Vietnamese government has decided to take action to address this issue.
It is expected that the Vietnamese government will soon introduce a policy to combat e-vapor smuggling, which will provide new opportunities and advantages for domestic compliant e-vapor companies.

Firstly, domestic compliant e-vapor companies have a complete production standard and quality assurance system. Compared to illegally smuggled e-vapor, compliant products are more reliable in terms of safety and quality, meeting consumers' demands for health and quality. As the Vietnamese government intensifies efforts to combat e-vapor smuggling, compliant e-vapor is expected to become the preferred choice for consumers.
Secondly, compliant exported e-vapor has a significant competitive advantage in the Vietnamese market. Thanks to government policies and regulatory support, compliant export companies have more advantages in product development, production processes, and market promotion. These companies can leverage the mature domestic supply chain and technological innovation capabilities to provide high-quality and diverse e-vapor products for the Vietnamese market. Additionally, compliant exported e-vapor companies can customize production according to the demands of the Vietnamese market, better meeting consumers' personalized needs.

Furthermore, compliant exported e-vapor has a certain driving effect on Vietnam's economic development. According to data, the development of the e-vapor industry will directly promote the growth of related industrial chains, including e-liquid manufacturing, battery production, and retail channels. The introduction of compliant e-vapor will promote the growth of related industries in Vietnam, providing new momentum for employment and economic growth.
Finally, as the Vietnamese government intensifies its determination to combat e-vapor smuggling, cooperation with China to create a compliant exported e-vapor market will become a common focus and effort for both sides. Through cooperation, enterprises from both countries can share technology, experience, and market resources to jointly promote the healthy development of the e-vapor industry.
In summary, the Vietnamese government's new policy to combat e-vapor smuggling brings new advantages and opportunities for domestic e-vapor companies in exporting to the Vietnamese market.
