Kazakhstan Seizes More Than 55,000 Illegal E-cigarettes Worth Over KZT 80 Million

The Almaty Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) of Kazakhstan, in coordination with the city prosecutor's office, successfully seized a large number of illegal e-cigarettes.

During investigative operations carried out in the southern metropolis, the AFM and the prosecutor's office identified stores and warehouses involved in the wholesale distribution of illegal e-cigarettes.
During the operation, more than 55,000 e-cigarettes were seized and confiscated, with a total value exceeding KZT 80 million (approximately RMB 1.27 million).
At present, the AFM has launched a pre-trial investigation into the case. Law enforcement officials have also called on parents of teenagers to closely monitor children's purchasing behavior.
Under Article 201 of Kazakhstan's Criminal Procedure Code, specific details cannot be disclosed at this time.
