Indonesia to Introduce New Vaping Rules?!
Aug. 22 - Recently, the e-cigarette use rate in Bali, Indonesia was 4.2 percent, higher than the national average of 2.8 percent. Among teenagers, e-cigarette use is even higher. Among Indonesian teenagers aged 10 to 18, the use rate is 10.9%, while among the same age group in Bali, it reaches 20.18%.

At the same time, the popularity of e-cigarettes has become a major threat to increase smoking behavior, especially among teenagers. According to GATS 2021, the use of e-cigarettes among Indonesian adults has increased from 0.3% in 2011 to 3.0% in 2021. It specifically mentions that e-cigarette use in Bali is 4.2%, higher than the national average of 2.8%. Among teenagers, e-cigarette use is even higher. Among Indonesian teenagers aged 10 to 18, the usage rate is 10.9%, while among the same age group in Bali, the rate reaches 20.18%. For this reason, the Indonesian government has issued a number of regulations on smoke-free zones, with a ban on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship being a key element of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).
