Russia to launch large-scale inspections of e-cigarette sales?
On August 22, news reported that recently, according to the Russian parliamentary newspaper, the chairman of the State Duma's Youth Policy Committee, Artem Metelyov, called on Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov to conduct large-scale inspections of e-cigarette sales before September 1, with violators facing fines.

Metelyov expressed concern about the e-cigarette issue in Russia during a television interview. He stated that the newly introduced regulations apply not only to e-cigarettes but also cover any nicotine-containing devices, including hookahs. It not only prohibits the sale of these products to minors but also bans public display or advertising of related products, treating e-cigarettes the same as traditional cigarettes. However, investigations have shown that this regulation has not been fully complied with in some regions. There was also discussion about whether to implement surprise inspections on e-cigarette shops, and he will strive to ensure that businesses comply with existing regulations.
