On the same day, customs officers at Shanghai Pudong International Airport discovered abnormal images during the preliminary inspection of incoming checked luggage, suspecting the presence of a large quantity of tobacco products, and immediately issued interception orders. Two passengers chose the "no declaration channel" after retrieving their luggage. Customs smart interception facilities assisted on-site officers in accurately intercepting them.
Upon opening the luggage for inspection, it was found that one suspect had 46,000 cigarettes in two checked bags and one carry-on backpack; another suspect had 43,200 cigarettes and 2,600 e-cigarette cartridges in two checked suitcases and two carry-on backpacks. The aforementioned items have been handed over to the customs anti-smuggling department for further processing.
