Turkish Customs Seize Illegal E-Cigarettes Worth RMB 6.667 Million

Recently, Turkish customs enforcement officials conducted an operation at Pendik Port, seizing 43,200 illegal smuggled e-cigarettes.
According to a statement from the department, customs enforcement officials inspected a truck that had departed from Germany and arrived in Turkey via Italy on a roll-on/roll-off ship. After staff conducted an X-ray inspection of the suspicious truck, they found the cargo density inside the trailer to be suspicious.
Ultimately, enforcement officials seized 43,200 smuggled e-cigarettes during this operation. This is the largest quantity of illegal e-cigarettes seized in Turkey to date. It is estimated that the seized e-cigarettes are worth approximately 25 million lira (about 6.667 million RMB).
Currently, the Istanbul Anatolia Chief Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into this incident.
