Hybrid cartridge with e-liquid and tobacco leaf? JT launches first product in the with lineup

According to Japan Tobacco (JT)’s official press release on July 27, it has launched a new heated tobacco + vapor device called “with 2.” Key details are as follows:
1. Product launch and sales schedule
   - The new product is called “with 2,” the first device in JT’s new “with” brand.
   - It will go on sale at Japanese convenience stores and tobacco shops on September 5, 2023, with online preorders starting on August 7, 2023.

2. Device features
   - Unique technology: Uses JT’s proprietary injection technology. E-liquid passes through a cartridge containing granular tobacco to generate vapor, with no need to wait for preheating.
   - Almost no tobacco taste: Since tobacco leaves are not directly heated, there is almost no tobacco smoke taste.
   - Dual mode: Two heating modes selectable by button; High Power mode produces 1.3 times more vapor than Normal mode.
 3. Product details
   - Retail price: 1,980 yen (tax included).
   - Starter kit: The “with 2” set includes the device, charger, and Type-C cable.
   - Color options: Black and White.
   - Cartridge life: Normal mode (approx. 250 puffs / 5 cartridges); High Power mode (approx. 150 puffs / 5 cartridges).
   - Charging time: 60 minutes.
