McKesse disposable vape forcibly removed from shelves in Ireland over excessive nicotine content
According to Irish media, Ireland's Health Service Executive (HSE) has warned the public not to use several vaping devices, including the MK Bar 7000 in Blue & Razz Ice and Green Apple flavors, because the nicotine content of the products exceeds the legal limit of 20mg/ml.
The report noted that the relevant HSE department has submitted an alert to the European Safety Gate, the EU's rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products. Retailers have now been asked to post recall notices for the above products at their business premises, on online retail websites, and on social media. Stores have also been asked to provide the HSE with supplier traceability details for the related products.
Dr. Maurice Mulcahy, HSE Regional Chief Environmental Health Officer, said that manufacturers and importers of vaping devices and e-liquid are responsible for ensuring their products fully comply with all legislative requirements. He advised people who purchased the above products not to use them and to return them to the store where they were bought. He also reminded manufacturers and importers that they are obligated to provide the HSE with full and appropriate prior notification before placing products on the Irish market through the EU Common Entry Gate portal.
The report added that McKesse did not respond to requests for comment on the matter. According to Tianyancha, McKesse's Class 34 trademark is registered by Max (Shenzhen) Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
