According to TASS and the Eurasian Economic Union, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has finalized the unique coding structure for electronic navigation seals. These codes will be used to uniquely identify each specific shipment when participants in information exchange process data automatically without manual intervention. The EAEU noted: “The numbering rules ensure that they cannot be reused.”According to relevant information, the electronic navigation seal agreement was signed in Moscow in April 2022 with the aim of expanding the use of modern technological solutions for organizing transportation, including minimizing customs and other forms of state regulatory measures for goods transported within EAEU territory.The agreement establishes a regulatory framework for the use of electronic navigation seals in the supervision of cargo transportation crossing the territories of two or more EAEU member states. They apply to customs transit procedures carried out by road or rail transport, as well as to special economic measures implemented by one or more member states, and to alcohol, tobacco, and tobacco products. Operators in EAEU countries will be responsible for supervising cargo transportation.Public information shows that the Eurasian Economic Union was established in 2015. Its member states include Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia, all five of which are important partners in the Belt and Road Initiative. The union aims to achieve the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor within the bloc by 2025, while promoting coordinated and consistent economic policies.
