Yichun Market Regulator in Heilongjiang Issues Reminder Prohibiting E-Cigarette Advertising

According to China Quality News Network: In order to further regulate the publication of e-cigarette advertising, and in accordance with the Advertising Law, the Tobacco Monopoly Law, the Implementing Regulations of the Tobacco Monopoly Law, and other relevant provisions, the Yichun Municipal Market Supervision Administration of Heilongjiang Province issued the following reminder and warning on March 21 regarding e-cigarette advertising:
1. The publication of all e-cigarette and tobacco product advertisements is prohibited;
2. The publication of e-cigarette and tobacco product advertisements through the internet, apps, public accounts, and similar channels is prohibited;
3. Tobacco advertisements are prohibited in mass media, public places, public transportation vehicles, and outdoor spaces;
4. Sending any form of tobacco advertising to minors is prohibited;
5. It is prohibited to use advertisements for other goods or services, or public service advertisements, to promote tobacco product names, trademarks, packaging, decoration, or similar content;
6. Announcements published by tobacco product manufacturers or sellers regarding relocation, name changes, recruitment, and similar matters must not contain tobacco product names, trademarks, packaging, decoration, or similar content;
7. All advertising operators and publishers must fulfill their primary responsibilities and must not undertake, produce, publish, or covertly publish e-cigarette or tobacco product advertisements.
All e-cigarette operators and advertising publishing entities must immediately remove, stop printing, stop broadcasting, and stop distributing any e-cigarette advertisements that have already been published, including all advertisements containing the names, trademarks, packaging, decoration, or similar content of e-cigarette products. Market supervision authorities will continue to strengthen monitoring and inspection of e-cigarette and tobacco product advertising, and any relevant illegal advertisements discovered during such monitoring and inspections will be strictly investigated and punished in accordance with the law.
