The Vaping Regulatory Authority (VRA) of New Zealand has inspected over 8,000 products on store shelves that have been notified for registration.

“For most of the products reviewed, no issues were found, but in some cases, the information provided by manufacturers or importers indicated that they might contain prohibited ingredients, or their nicotine salt content might exceed legal limits,” said VRA manager Matthew Burgess.

“Following the review, notifications were issued for the withdrawal of 340 vaping products, meaning they can no longer be legally sold in New Zealand. We will soon publish a list of products that are no longer notified on the Ministry of Health's website.”

Up to 1,800 other vaping products may still be removed from shelves. Authorities are working with the companies that manufacture or sell them and are asking for more information by next week.
