RELX Applies for Patent on New Sweetener E-Liquid—A Breakthrough on National Standard Limits?
According to Atom tech, Shenzhen Wusxin Technology, the parent company of Yuexie, has applied for a ""Hesperidin dihydrochalcone" is an invention patent for the atomizing liquid of a sweetener.
According to the patent application description of fog core technology,Compared to the presentThe popular sweetener uses "sucralose",Using "hesperetin dihydrochalcone" as a sweetener will be more suitable for low-temperature atomization,Higher atomization efficiency and less carbon deposits are formed on the atomization core, which can effectively improve the user's taste and reduce safety risks.
According to the inquired patent information, the invention patent was applied for by Fog Core Technology on November 9 last year and was made public on February 8 this year.

At present, existing electronic nebulizers in the industry often use sucralose as a sweetener.
Sucralose has high sweetness, about 600 times that of sucrose, and is pure. However, when sucralose is used in electronic atomizing liquid, since the effective atomization temperature of most closed electronic atomizers on the market is only about 250℃, sucralose cannot be effectively atomized due to its high molecular weight and poor stability, resulting in partial sucralose being deposited on the ceramic core and forming carbon deposits, which hinder the later atomization of the electronic atomizing liquid and affect the taste of the electronic atomizing product. In addition, because sucralose is easy to decompose and produces hydrochloric acid, posing potential safety risks.
According to the patent application, the new inventionUsing "hesperetin dihydrochalcone" as a sweetenerElectronic atomizing liquid, while ensuring the user's taste and sweetness, can reduce carbon deposits in the atomizing core, reduce the content of aldehydes, ketones and heavy metals in the emissions of the electronic atomizer, and reduce safety risks.
According to reports, neohesperidin dihydrochalcone (NHDC) is a flavonoid derivative of neohesperidin extracted from natural citrus plants after hydrogenation. It is a functional sweetener with bitterness suppression and flavor improvement. The sweetness of neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is 1500? 1800 times, has less calories, fresh taste, lasting aftertaste, and has excellent effect of blocking bitterness. However, the atomization efficiency of neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is low and the sweetness is slow. Hesperidin dihydrochalcone (HDC) is an aglycone of neohesperidin dihydrochalcone after the glycosidic group is removed.
Hesperidin dihydrochalcone has the same sweetness as neohesperidin dihydrochalcone. Although it is not as sweet as neohesperidin dihydrochalcone, hesperidin dihydrochalcone has a small molecular weight and is easy to atomize. Therefore, it is more suitable for application in electronic nebulizers.# p#pagination title #e#

Comparison of the stability of atomization efficiency of different sweeteners
At the same time, the experimental comparison, the inventor of Mist Core Technology patent further found that the atomization stability of hesperetin dihydrochalcone in the electronic atomization liquid is good. In some embodiments, atomization efficiency analysis is performed on different pumping stages of electronic atomization liquid with a certain content of hesperetin dihydrochalcone. The analysis results show that the atomization efficiency in different pumping stages is similar, and the rate of change in atomization efficiency is within the range of ±5%. For example, the weight percent ratio of hesperetin dihydrochalcone is 0 . 3%) was tested, and the results showed that the fogging efficiency of orange peel dihydrochalcone was 74% ±3%.

Comparison of core test data of different sweeteners
Since the hesperetin dihydrochalcone in the electronic atomizing liquid can achieve effective and stable atomization, the electronic atomizing liquid forms less carbon deposits in the atomizing core (e.g., ceramic core) of the atomizer, so that no or less paste smell is produced.
While applying for a new patent for sweetener atomizing liquid, Atom tech has not yet received any news of the implementation of a specific product using "hesperetin dihydrochalcone" as a sweetener.
inOn November 30, 2021, the draft for comments on the e-cigarette national standard was released. The opinion draft lists a "white list" of aerosol additives, which contains a total of 122 different compounds, but their use as coolants and sweeteners for flavor regulation is greatly limited.
According to Xiwu Xing Chenyue's research team's interpretation of the national standard opinion draft, on the white listOnly very small amounts are clear sweeteners (such as wheatGerminol and ethyl maltol), and the maximum amount is stipulated to not exceed 6%, and it is determined that: "When the preparation of fruity/sweet tobacco oil is limited by the" white list ", the rich fruity, sweetness, leisure beverage products on the market will be greatly reduced."# p#pagination title #e#
Fog Core Technology is seeking new sweetener solutions. While improving product performance, it still needs to be observed whether there are considerations in broadening the technical layout in the direction of sweeteners.
