Oumier Wasp Nano RDTA Review

At the Shenzhen expo in April 2017, a compact and mini-sized RDA quickly became a hit in the vaping market. That product was the WASP NANO RDA launched by OUMIER. Today, we are reviewing its very popular spin-off, the WASP NANO RDTA.

In April 2017, a compact RDA product quickly became popular in the vaping market due to its small size and mini design. This RDA is the WASP NANO by OUMIER, and today we are reviewing its highly sought-after derivative—the WASP NANO RDTA.

The packaging size of the WASP NANO RDTA is the same as that of the WASP NANO RDA, both measuring 58mm*58mm*35mm in a paper box, but the WASP NANO RDTA comes in white packaging. The front of the packaging features product photos, the WASP NANO name, and product type; the back includes standard warning text, icons, and the manufacturer; the sides display the official website address, packaging contents, manufacturer, and anti-counterfeit scratch card.     Inside the packaging, you will find: one WASP NANO RDTA, one spare oil tank, one accessory pack, and one piece of cotton. The accessory pack includes: one triple parallel Clapton coil, one T-shaped screwdriver, two spare locking screws, and several spare O-rings. WASP NANO RDTA Review     The WASP NANO RDTA has a diameter of 22mm, a length of 31mm, a bare weight of 25g, and a capacity of 2.5ml. The inner diameter of the drip tip is 8.5mm, the length of the drip tip chimney is 7.5mm, the size of the air inlet is 5.5mm*2.5mm, and the spacing of the wire holes is 8mm, with an actual physical space height of 2mm. Aside from the structural differences that lead to increases in length, weight, and capacity compared to its RDA counterpart, all other parameters affecting flavor remain unchanged. Thus, the WASP NANO RDTA is simply an expanded structure based on its RDA product without any adjustments or optimizations to its usage parameters.     The atomizer's structure is extremely simple, with only two main components, making daily maintenance a breeze. The PEI material of the atomizer cover and drip tip is integrated, and while PEI has excellent thermal insulation properties, the condensation issue can be bothersome, as you will find the inner wall covered in condensation, requiring regular cleaning with a tissue for those with obsessive-compulsive tendencies.     The brass base does not have a flashy gold plating but complements the yellow PEI material nicely. The top of the cover has a common dome shape, and the interface diameter perfectly accommodates a 510 drip tip. The original cover's drip tip angle has been well-designed for a perfect fit with the mouth.     The two sealing rings on the base are well-balanced in tightness, making it neither too loose nor too tight when inserting or removing the cover. The electrode platform features two oval air inlets, and based on the span of the air inlets, it can be anticipated that the draw resistance of this RDA is not as tight as one might imagine. A small groove design has also been cleverly implemented below the locking wire holes, providing a more convenient operational experience when locking the heating wire, preventing the wire legs from shifting randomly. WASP NANO RDTA Review     The dual electrode posts are in a “T” shape, with a large flat area on top that tends to accumulate some condensation during use. While this may not look appealing, it does not significantly affect usability, and regular cleaning with a tissue will suffice. Thanks to the “T” shaped electrode posts, the oil reservoir at the bottom of the atomizer has more space, facilitating short-term oil storage.     WASP NANO RDA's coil building is very simple, and there is no strict requirement for the direction of the wire legs when wrapping the coil; it can be done according to personal preference, and adjustments to the coil height can complete the setup. However, due to the span of the locking wire holes, it does not support single wire builds as effectively, but using multi-stranded wire is more reasonable and convenient.     For the atomizer's oil filling, you can directly drip oil from the drip tip. However, if the dripping speed is too fast, the e-liquid may flood the two air inlets due to the cotton's absorption speed, so caution is advised. Nevertheless, given the tightness of the cover, there are no issues with opening the cover to drip oil, making it very convenient. The “T” shaped design of the electrode posts increases the space in the bottom oil reservoir, enhancing the duration of each oil drip. WASP NANO RDTA Review     After repeated usage tests, the results are as follows:     The atomizer's heat dissipation performed well in the first two sets of data but struggled slightly in the third set; when the airflow is fully open, the draw resistance is low, feeling a bit airy, and the airflow lacks impact; when the airflow is half open, the draw resistance increases, but the airflow still lacks impact; across the three sets of test data, the atomizer's flavor reproduction is average, with the overall flavor being somewhat weak and the layers of vapor not distinct; the flavor performance when the airflow is half open is better than when fully open; the flavor is slightly inferior compared to similar products under the same data conditions; similar to its RDA counterpart, the WASP NANO RDTA tends to accumulate condensation on the coil building platform and the top of the atomizer chamber, and if not cleaned regularly after frequent use, condensation may seep out through the air inlets.     Summary     The WASP NANO RDTA, with its 22mm diameter, compact size, and high aesthetic appeal, has become a top choice for many users. However, its slightly picky usage data and the specific characteristics of the e-liquids it requires limit its applicability and practicality. Regarding draw resistance, it only provides a slight resistance when fully open, and partially closing the airflow may produce a whistling sound. Using cooler e-liquids with the WASP NANO RDTA feels better than with other types of e-liquids, but overall flavor does not match that of other similar products.
