This year has seen rapid growth in compact pod devices. In this era of constant new releases, with products appearing one after another, VAPORESSO, the well-known brand under Smoore, has built an image among users as an outstanding company after a long period of market refinement. All of its products have received consistent praise from the vaping community. Recently, VAPORESSO launched a brand-new compact kit, the Orca Solo. Today, we’re taking a look at this pen-style pod vaping device from VAPORESSO—the Orca Solo, or “Orca.”

Package contents: Orca all-in-one device ×1, 1.3Ω cotton coil ×1, 1.3Ω ceramic coil ×1, USB charging cable ×1, user manual ×1, warranty card ×1 VAPORESSO Orca Solo pen-style pod device review Specifications:

  Size: 16*16*-119.5mm

  E-liquid capacity: 1.5ml

  Battery: built-in 800mAh

The kit comes in seven colors. The sample we received is the rainbow version. The color is flashy but beautiful, and most importantly, it’s truly very, very compact—not even as large as a cigar. That makes it extremely convenient to carry when going out, and it also helps make it less intimidating for people who are used to the size of traditional cigarettes.

Once disassembled, the device consists of four parts: the battery tube (base), glass tank, atomizer chamber (top cap), and drip tip. The workmanship is fine, and no flaws were found. Because it uses an all-in-one design, the battery tube and base are integrated. As for why the atomizer chamber and top cap are listed together, we’ll get to that shortly.

On the front and side of the battery tube are the fire button and the USB charging port. Around the fire button is a ring-shaped ambient light that indicates device status. Its indicator behavior is the same as that of the Cascade mentioned earlier, so we won’t go into too much detail here.

Although the battery tube is compact, its performance should not be underestimated. The built-in 800mAh battery combined with fast charging means you don’t need to worry about battery life at all. The device also comes with multiple protection features, making it beginner-friendly without raising concerns about use or safety.

At the top of the device, the base features a single adjustable airflow hole. This design not only makes the draw resistance closer to that of a cigarette, but also allows users to adjust airflow to their own preference. At the same time, the bottom-airflow layout improves flavor performance. The inside of the base is also quite deep, giving condensed liquid more room to collect and keeping condensation trapped inside the base.

The atomizer chamber fits over the outside of the glass tank. So its main function is to protect the glass tank from damage. Inside the upper part of the chamber—or under the top cap, if you prefer—there are threads used to connect the coil, which secures the entire chamber to the device. So when refilling, you need to remove the whole atomizer chamber.

At the top is a standard 510 drip tip, but it uses a tapered design. It looks almost like a graceful figure, with a classic S-shaped curve. Of course, this design is also meant to better fit the shape of the mouth and improve the mouth-to-lung experience.

The kit includes two coils, both rated at 1.3Ω and supporting 7W to 12W. The difference is that one is a cotton coil and the other is a ceramic coil. The coils are slim and elongated, with one end connecting to the base and the other securing the atomizer chamber, so they play a major role. The coil itself also includes an internal airflow tube, which nicely solves the awkward issue of an atomizer lacking a dedicated chimney.

For a high-resistance, low-vapor mouth-to-lung device like this, high-nicotine e-liquid is the best match. So the reviewer tried it with a classic tobacco e-liquid containing nicotine strength of 5. Whether in terms of tobacco flavor reproduction or draw resistance, the experience was excellent. That said, we should also mention the e-liquid paired with the ceramic coil above—ALT Classic Tobacco. VAPORESSO Orca Solo pen-style pod device review Classic Tobacco is an original-flavor tobacco e-liquid produced by VAPORESSO specifically for use with ceramic coils. It comes in two nicotine strengths, 3 and 5, and is made from pure natural plant extracts. The reviewer’s impression was simple: the tobacco flavor is rich and fragrant, and the taste is quite similar to the local Ziyun cigarette brand. It’s very good, and the reviewer believes it would also perform very well with other atomizers.#p#分页标题#e#

  Summary:

A reminder to everyone: during use, make sure the coil is properly installed and fully connected to the bottom section, otherwise the device will not work, and it may also leak e-liquid, affecting the vaping experience!

The Orca can be described as a pen-style kit made especially for middle-aged and older smokers looking to quit or switch. One-button, foolproof operation; bottom adjustable single-hole airflow; a drip tip perfectly suited to mouth-to-lung use; high-resistance coils—especially the ceramic coil—all point to a low-vapor, flavor-focused mouth-to-lung device that fits the standard needs of smoking replacement. At the same time, its vivid color options also make it a compact pod device suitable for younger users. Its small size, 800mAh battery, and fast charging also make it an excellent choice for carrying out and about.

The reviewer recommends pairing it with nicotine salt e-liquid for an even better flavor experience.
