AFK Low Roar RTA Review
“Say what you do, do what you say.” is the spirit of AFK STUDIO. In today's domestic market, this product line has consistently maintained a high-quality and high-end approach. Following the mechanical mod, Night King RDA, and bottom-fill box, they have also released their first tank product – the Low Roar RTA.<\/p>
With such a high-end product line, the Low Roar RTA comes in a packaging size of 260*190*150mm, which is absolutely one of the most impressive on the market. Looking back at any e-cigarette product on the market, none have such an extravagant box to contain it.
Upon opening, you will find that this extravagant box contains an ultrasonic cleaner as the packaging for the atomizer. Regardless of whether it is extravagant, it certainly leaves a deep impression, considering that the retail price of standalone ultrasonic cleaners is not cheap.
Continuing to open it reveals that the included accessories cover a single coil base, spare glass tank, O-rings, screws, and other common accessories, along with a separate warranty card and a Chinese instruction manual.
The Low Roar RTA measures 46*24mm, which is the mainstream size on the market, and it comes in both silver and gold versions. Besides using an ultrasonic cleaner as the packaging box, another striking feature is its appearance.
Its drip tip, top cap, and bottom airflow adjustment ring are treated with acid etching and then colored, giving it a pattern similar to Damascus steel, which makes it look very high-end when paired with various mechanical mods and box devices.
Disassembling it reveals impeccable craftsmanship in all parts, which is typical of AFK STUDIO products.
The drip tip specification is 810, and as seen in the image, this atomizer's drip tip is made from a combination of metal and PEI, providing excellent anti-condensation and visual effects.
Then, in the top fill ring and inner tank section, the material used is regular stainless steel, treated with coloring and mirror polishing. However, when securing this part to the glass tank, care must be taken as there are no raised edges to hold it in place, which means that when the tank contains e-liquid, you need to be cautious when unscrewing the base to avoid the glass tank loosening and leaking (there will be no leaking when properly installed).
On the base, you can see relevant markings and an individual serial number.
The Low Roar RTA comes equipped with both a single coil and a dual coil base, both of which are silver-plated. This configuration of two types of bases is definitely a boon for players, providing more versatility.
When replacing the base, you need to first remove the screws from the bottom electrode before the electrode base can be separated. The image shows that the two electrode bases correspond to different lengths of electrode screws, so be careful during installation.
Additionally, the dual coil base has a small PEEK insulator at the bottom, so be careful not to lose this part during replacement to avoid short-circuiting issues.
The coil data is very suitable for using 3.0mm diameter fancy wire coils, so it is recommended to keep the resistance data for the dual coil base between 0.15-0.2Ω; for the single coil base, it is recommended to keep the resistance between 0.2-0.3Ω and reduce the airflow to match a more suitable draw. Additionally, the coil installation is straightforward, and the cotton can simply be stuffed into the juice channels, which work very well.
In terms of flavor performance, from my personal perspective, I would unhesitatingly choose the dual coil setup because its airflow settings, air volume, and atomization space allow the flavor to be more pronounced and sharp, which is definitely a boon for “flavor enthusiasts.” As for the single coil base, although resistance ranges are recommended, the flavor emphasis may vary due to the characteristics of different wires, so players should experiment more. Here, I also suggest players try using 0.7mm A1 wire, as the flavor produced will be quite surprising.
As the latest product from AFK STUDIO, the Low Roar RTA does not disappoint. In summary, it is an outstanding product. The most controversial point among players regarding this atomizer is its ultrasonic cleaner “packaging box”; while the cleaner is highly practical for every DIY player, it is not a necessity. If AFK STUDIO were to release a simplified version of the Low Roar RTA to further reduce the purchase cost, it might become even more popular in the domestic market. #p#分页标题#e#
