The focus of this review, the IJOY AI POD KIT, has opened a new door.
Upon first seeing this pod system, I was taken aback by its pure white, minimalist packaging, with a flip-top design and a familiar "blueberry" flavor label in the top left corner. What is rare is the bunch of Chinese characters on the back, which brings back a sense of belonging, eliminating the feeling of being an export product.
The items included in the packaging are as follows: a pod, the IJOY AI device, a lanyard, a USB charging cable, a multilingual instruction manual with Chinese as the primary language, and a warranty card, one of each.
The pod features a common flat mouthpiece design; with a 450mAh battery capacity and a 45-minute charging time, the IJOY AI POD can generally meet the daily needs of heavy smokers. But how does it perform in terms of flavor?
According to the product description in the manual, I specifically looked into it, and the IJOY AI POD's pod uses a structure of heating wire wrapped around fiber organic cotton, with a resistance of 1.6Ω and a power of 15W. Its structure is designed for e-liquids with nicotine concentrations of 20-30mg, so vapers are recommended to choose their e-liquids wisely to ensure a good vaping experience! (Of course, if you insist on using 50mg nicotine salts, I can't stop you - -)
From my experience with the disposable pod, the vapor production is moderate, and the flavor of the 20mg nicotine salt is slightly mild (because I prefer stronger flavors). Using around 30mg e-liquid would yield better results.
The device dimensions are 28*13*90.5mm, made of aluminum alloy/plastic, with a maximum power of 15W and a built-in battery capacity of 450mAh. The internal craftsmanship is excellent, simple yet perfectly fitted; the charging port is located at the bottom, not affecting the appearance; the lower part features a subtle AI logo, and the dual-sided visible green breathing light adds a touch of vitality to the otherwise dull black body; the overall feel is quite good, with a slight matte texture, a bit slippery; it feels lightweight in hand, and the size is very appropriate; the included lanyard also provides an alternative way to carry it, showing that the manufacturer has thoughtfully considered these details. It's quite simple to use: just insert the pod into the device and inhale. Many have seen and tried this method.
My personal experience during use is as follows:
First, the overall draw resistance. Although it's not my preference, it is more suitable for mouth-to-lung inhaling; however, when inhaling, a half-fist position allows for slight adjustments to block the two air intake holes, thus finding a more suitable draw resistance for oneself. I prefer a fully closed draw, where the vapor is moist and warm, and the small mouth-to-lung inhaling does not consume the e-liquid too quickly. (Laughs)
Second, the pod. There are a total of 6 flavors available (two tobacco and four fruit flavors), and the one I received is blueberry flavor, or more accurately, ice blueberry. The mouth-to-lung inhaling has a distinct berry sweetness and a hint of non-menthol coolness, indicating the addition of a cooling agent; the overall flavor is quite satisfactory, with a mild throat hit and a slight saltiness. After inhaling, pushing the vapor into the nose reveals more blueberry flavor, and it feels more comfortable in the lungs than mouth-to-lung inhaling. However, I noticed two issues: first, I searched through all the packaging materials and found no indication of the nicotine concentration; I personally feel it is around 3% salt. Second, the manual clearly states that it can be refilled, and there is an illustration showing a refill hole, but this pod does not have that function, and I couldn't find this product on the official website, so it could either be an oversight or a future consideration.
Overall, I feel that the AI POD is a well-designed product with excellent craftsmanship and good pod flavors. Its lack of obvious flaws is its greatest strength. I can't point out any issues with the device itself, but if the pod concept could be optimized further (such as mixing refillable and disposable pods or pairing different flavored pods), the experience would be even better.
