ZQVi Pod Vape Review
Pod vapes are very popular right now. One type uses pre-filled disposable cartridges, while another allows users to refill e-liquid themselves. Because the long-term cost is relatively lower, refillable mini devices are especially popular. Today I’d like
Pod vapes are currently very popular, and there are disposable cartridge types as well as refillable ones. The latter is particularly favored due to its lower long-term costs. Today, I want to share a refillable pod vape, the ZQVi! Due to the size and structure limitations of pod vapes, many products tend to be quite similar.
Manufacturers have indeed put a lot of thought into distinguishing their products. The ZQ pod vape features a power button! The packaging is straightforward and clear. The front of the box displays a sketch of the product, with the Vi logo in the bottom right corner. The back contains all the information in English, detailing the contents of the box. A small red dot in the bottom left indicates the color. On the right side, there is an anti-counterfeiting QR code and barcode.
The aspire logo is very prominent, and those who have used e-cigarettes should be quite familiar with this trademark. There are many classic products associated with this brand.
The side of the box features the ZQ logo and the website address, with a pull-out packaging style. The inner packaging is simpler, with the ZQ logo printed in the center.
Upon opening the box, there is a layer of "film" that proves it is new! It also provides some protection for the device. Notably, the top row indicates that the voltage is adjustable! This is quite rare in pod vapes!
The table inside provides detailed specifications: two voltage output modes, a 650mAh battery, a 2ml pod capacity, an output power of 7~13W, and a pod resistance of 1.4 ohms.
This is everything included in the packaging: the main device, a charging cable, a user manual, a certificate of conformity, and a needle oil bottle. I couldn't help but take a special photo of the needle oil bottle; it's very small and quite cute! Pod vapes consume much less oil than larger devices, so this bottle can easily last a day even for heavy users.
The black part has a printed texture, resembling engineering plastic, while the red part has a skin-like layer, providing a nice feel. The side of the device is metal, forming a sturdy structure that gives a solid impression.
This is the top of the pod, where you can see that the top is slightly thinner than the bottom, allowing for a more comfortable fit against the lips. The airflow channel is relatively wide for a pod vape, and upon closer inspection, you can see the internal cotton core and heating wire structure.
This is the connection point between the pod and the device. Like many pod vapes, the center is the airflow hole, with electrode pins on both sides and magnets on the outer edges. The new pod has a seal at the bottom, with magnets on both sides, and the seal has a small arrow indicating how to peel it off.
Peeling off the seal reveals the bottom view. This is a photo taken after removing the rubber plug from the refill hole; the refill hole is quite wide, allowing for easy filling with standard pod oil bottles, although the needle oil bottle is more convenient.
The central airflow section is a highlight, featuring a honeycomb design, and the airflow section is slightly recessed into the pod. This design not only provides denser airflow, which may enhance flavor, but also effectively prevents condensation from leaking out of the bottom of the pod.
I must say that the bottom design of this pod is a highlight for this device! In addition to the device, a 3% nicotine salt oil is also included!
The 3% nicotine salt oil may not seem very high, but when inhaled, it is indeed very satisfying, hitting quickly and powerfully, so you don't want to puff too hard. I'll discuss this later. This is what it looks like after filling the oil; it's a short and stout pod that doesn't look very large, but it has a full capacity of 2ml.
From the side, the airflow channel is quite wide, essentially straight up and down. The bottom contains the cotton core and heating wire structure.
With the introduction complete, let's talk about the user experience.
The ZQ pod vape primarily promotes two features: its button switch! Unlike many pod vapes that only use airflow activation to start.
On the front panel of the ZQ device, there is a small square button at the bottom, which also serves as an indicator light. Pressing it five times turns the device on and off, similar to many box mods. In the off state, a long press for three seconds allows you to switch between the two output voltage levels.
The green light indicates a constant voltage mode of 3.5V, while the white light indicates a full power mode of 4.2V.
The working modes are also twofold: you can directly inhale to trigger the airflow switch, or you can press the button to start the device, similar to a box mod.
In actual use, the airflow switch is very sensitive, providing a better inhalation experience. Having gotten used to pod vapes, I feel that button activation is more suited for box mods, and the button is relatively small, making direct inhalation more convenient.
The ZQ has a relatively large airflow, and the airflow channel is quite wide, resulting in a lower draw resistance. This means that its vapor production is noticeably larger than similar pod vapes! I have several cotton core pod vapes, including the S8, Comma, 3S, and Military Knife, and their vapor production is all noticeably less than that of the ZQ!!
So I would say that I personally consider the ZQ to be one of the larger vapor producers among the pod vapes I have used!
Using the ZQ with the included 3% nicotine oil really hits quickly with just a few puffs; the grapefruit flavor is very refreshing, but it is a bit strong! Haha!
After finishing one pod, I refilled it with a premium tobacco flavor that I recently used for mouth-to-lung vaping, and it felt great!
This time, the hit was noticeably slower, with a throat hit that I really liked!
Using the ZQ, I find that older mouth-to-lung oils work very well; you don't necessarily need to use high-concentration nicotine salts.
Its oil consumption is slightly higher compared to the four pod vapes mentioned earlier, but the 650mAh battery capacity is also a bit higher than many pod vapes, allowing for a full day of use without any major issues.
Although it doesn't have a screen display like the Comma, the indicator light is still quite intuitive, turning red when the battery is low to prompt charging.
Overall, the ZQ provides a great user experience, with a fantastic feel and a matte finish. The downside is that there is only one pod! Also, the button can easily be accidentally activated when placed in a pocket, leading to unintentional firing.
When inhaling, the ZQVI offers two methods of use: you can press the button to inhale, or you can use the airflow activation method. Considering that the ZQVI's button is relatively small and not very convenient to operate, I recommend users to adopt the automatic airflow activation method instead.
The relatively wide airflow channel makes it difficult for condensation to build up, and occasional cleaning is sufficient.
The honeycomb airflow design and recessed bottom ensure that there is almost no condensation leaking from the bottom of the pod.
The only minor issue is that the draw resistance is not very tight, and sometimes the mouth-to-lung experience can feel a bit airy, but for someone like me who often vapes at 5 watts (5 is my lucky number), this isn't a major problem.
The loose draw resistance and relatively large airflow are likely why the ZQ produces noticeably larger vapor.
Having used the ZQ for a week, with a moderate usage frequency, I have vaped through 8 pods, and the flavor of the pod has slightly changed; I think I can still push through two more pods. The ZQ is a pod vape that can handle non-nicotine salt mouth-to-lung oils.
