The definition of "taste" in the atomizer market always presents an interesting phenomenon. Generally, novice players/reviewers tend to rave about how amazing or terrible the taste of a certain atomizer is, without considering whether they are using matching core data. The existence of "taste" is often based on the notion that "if others say it’s good, it must be good," or whether the brand has enough reputation to judge the product, which is quite absurd and humorous. For experienced players, evaluating an atomizer involves not only being able to see the product's matching usage data at a glance but also focusing on the airflow settings. Therefore, when there is excellent airflow and inhalation feel, the product naturally wins people's hearts.

Templar RDA Review Today, I want to share with you the Templar RDA from Augvape, which impresses with its outstanding airflow. I will explain it step by step below.     The family-style cylindrical packaging includes accessories such as a PC chamber, rubber rings, a 510 drip tip adapter, single coil accessories (the domestic version does not include this accessory), and a bottom fill screw, but we did not see a screwdriver for installing the coil.     With a size of 31.5*24mm, it is a standard drip device. In terms of appearance, it is aesthetically pleasing but not considered high-end. The internal settings and details are where its essence lies.     The top cap features a faceted design at both ends, with the name "TEMPLAR" engraved on it, which helps provide better grip when adjusting airflow.     On the base, you can see that it uses an overall gold-plated process, and the length of the electrode screws is shorter than that of typical drippers. This does not cause structural issues; it just means that it may not fit well with some thicker mechanical mods (non-short circuit).  Templar RDA Review After disassembly, the main components are shown in the image above. You need not doubt the craftsmanship of Augvape's products.     The drip tip is made of POM, and you can see that its inner diameter is quite large, with almost no transition in the facets. The benefit of this design is that you won’t inhale any condensation during regular use. The interior of the top cap is also open, designed to prevent condensation without compressing the vapor, but it is praised by enthusiasts as a "dome gathering" that allows the vapor to compress further. So, does having such a large inner diameter drip tip create a contradiction? This is quite interesting.     As mentioned at the beginning of this article, a good atomizer's key factor is airflow. This dripper uses a distribution of three long holes and three short holes to form an overall airflow structure, paired with a trapezoidal slot on the top cap for adjustment. This design is somewhat similar to the previously unsuccessful honeycomb airflow but has significant differences because each time you open or close a long or short hole, the inhalation feel can be distinctly perceived. Now, returning to the practical experience, the question arises: does it rely solely on tight airflow to enhance the "taste" psychologically?

On the base, you can see that there are bulges on both sides of the oil chamber, which serve to create a fixed effect against the inner slot of the cover. This indicates that it needs to be aligned properly before the cover can be placed. Players often have mixed reviews about such designs, but in this case, the tolerances are well-matched, and with the ability to fill oil directly from the drip tip, you need not worry about its convenience.

The electrode post is undoubtedly the biggest feature of this atomizer, using a titanium alloy screw to divide the wire structure into two parts for fixing. When the screw is tightened, it has two holes; when opened, it becomes four holes. This design can also be classified as a non-traditional "dual post four holes".

After removing it, you can see that the upper electrode is fixed to the base using an insert method. The wire holes on both sides are black, made of zirconia ceramic. You can look up information about zirconia's high-temperature resistance and insulation; during use, it will not present any instability, and you need not worry about wear causing short circuits.

Additionally, the locking screw can be seen to be fixed within the sliding bearing by solder points, and this non-removable design allows it to automatically rise after being loosened. It is similar to a single-post dripper but reduces the instability factors caused by spring structures and eliminates concerns about the durability of the PEEK insulator in the layers, making for a simplified yet practical design that deserves praise.

When securing the wire, this four-hole structure poses no problems, and both new and experienced users can easily handle it. The only concern is whether the zirconia ceramic part may be fragile, which some players might worry about. For instance, when I tightened the wire during installation, I applied significant force, but it did not break. Moreover, during regular use, you only need to apply the same force as with other atomizers to secure the heating wire, and there will be no unpleasant jumping resistance.

As mentioned earlier, even with a completely open drip tip and a non-converging inner chamber, it exhibits excellent flavor performance due to its subtle inhalation feel. Initially, under standard 24mm dripper data, its airflow is actually on the tighter side, which can significantly enhance the flavor intensity, aligning perfectly with the definition of "taste" for all flavor enthusiasts. Furthermore, with the airflow fully open, it can handle resistances below 0.1Ω, providing sufficient cooling capacity, indicating that it is not a product that relies on constricted airflow to enhance "psychological taste".

If you cannot grasp the meaning of this statement, you can use a higher resistance dripper data to gradually close its airflow to experience it. For experienced players, even without installing a coil, just taking a dry hit can reveal its appealing inhalation feel.

Regarding the PC chamber, its angled airflow is similar to that of reverse dripping atomizers, providing slightly more airflow than steel chambers. With this airflow configuration, it resembles a conventional dripper; while it performs well, it does not offer the stunning satisfaction that a steel chamber can provide.

You will find no flaws in it; the craftsmanship and structure are very satisfying, and the innovative electrode post is definitely a plus for this atomizer. Therefore, once you purchase it, you need not worry about whether it can withstand wear and tear, whether it is durable, or whether it will experience jumping resistance. As for the flavor or taste performance, as the title of this article suggests — "Understanding airflow leads to taste" — the inhalation feel of the Templar RDA, from my personal perspective, is the first product in the past two years, aside from the 1VP RDA, that has impressed me on the first use. Thus, it does not need to rely on "you hype it, I hype it, everyone hypes it" or on any flavor-rich marketing to create purchasing power; a good product will sell itself.

However, from a consumer's perspective, I still recommend that Augvape equip this atomizer with a screwdriver at the factory, as very few people genuinely want to use their hands to tighten the heating wire.
