The Belost e-liquid series from Jitong Commercial caught my attention and won me over. At the time, they sent me some Kirin-branded coils, and I later learned that they had also released a Kirin-branded RDA. It seems the company has unified its hardware under the Kirin brand. Out of curiosity, that brings us to the subject of this review—the Kirin RDA.
1. Packaging
It comes in a black lift-off box. The front is printed with KIRIN RDA and a QL logo, but there doesn’t seem to be a registered trademark symbol. A reminder to Jitong: brand protection matters. The side of the box has English text that means “to give you a better experience.”
The back lists the product highlights, company name, website, and package contents.
Opening the box, the complimentary bottled coils are on the left, the atomizer is in the middle, and the accessories pack is on the right.
After removing everything from the packaging, the useful items from left to right are: Kirin? Netherworld 8-core fancy coil, Kirin RDA, accessories pack, and a small pack of Chiyan cotton.
2. Product Showcase
The Kirin RDA mounted on a Cylon mod.
The Kirin RDA cap and base.
A close-up of the Kirin atomizer cap. Notice the half-dollar drip tip; it is fairly long, which is a good thing because it helps prevent your lips from getting too hot while vaping.
3. Component Breakdown
A simple disassembly, from left to right: half-dollar drip tip, cap, and base.
Looking at the base in the image below: first, the structure is very similar to the 528, and I like this kind of layout because some of the coils I build are fairly wide, so installing them on this deck is stress-free; second, unlike most RDA atomizers where the cap covers the entire base directly, this cap fits into the gap between the juice well and the outer shell; third, the juice well is quite deep, so e-liquid capacity is relatively large; fourth, the posts are gold-plated. A company wouldn’t spend that extra cost without some confidence in the product.
Inside the cap, besides the chamber-reducing design, there is also a downward inverted cone shape that effectively prevents condensation from entering the mouth.
4. User Experience
When installing the coils, I noticed another thoughtful design detail: each screw has a spring underneath it. Once loosened, the spring pushes the clamp plate upward, which is excellent and makes coil installation much easier than on the 528. The 528 has no springs, so you have to lift the clamp plate manually with your hand or a screwdriver. When tightening the coils, the two screws on each post need to be tightened back and forth alternately, a method I was already familiar with from the 528. The build used was Kirin? Guiwu triple-core Clapton wire, 3.0 mm inner diameter, 6 tight wraps, dual coils, with a final resistance of 0.12 ohm.
For cotton, I used Muji rather than the included Chiyan cotton, mainly because I bought so much Muji cotton that, by rough estimate, I can use it until after next Spring Festival, so I need to work through it faster.
On the Cylon mod in standard power mode at 120W, the first e-liquid I used was my usual choice—Mango Smoothie 888. For me, there was really no other option. The moment I fired it, a huge fan-shaped cloud billowed up.
The sensation when vaping Mango Smoothie was deeply satisfying. The cool sweetness and fruit aroma came through clearly, evenly, and richly. The first puff had a slight nasal hit, which is often a sign of a good atomizer. Flavor definition was excellent, and the vapor production was huge and dense.
Next I switched to four Belost e-liquids: Dream Blue Ice, Berry Party, Magic Taro, and Peach Fruit Tea (reviewed in another article). Again, the atomizer delivered excellent flavor definition and a superb vaping experience, fully bringing out the character and strengths of each e-liquid.
Domestic atomizers are becoming increasingly mature. Good flavor and condensation control are now commonly achieved. What manufacturers compete on now are creativity, styling, and attention to detail.
5. Overall Evaluation
Highlights:
1. Excellent flavor and solid flavor definition.
2. Thoughtful design throughout, from the inverted cone that prevents condensation from reaching the mouth, to the longer drip tip, and especially the spring-loaded clamp screws. Care and attention are clearly part of this manufacturer’s core strengths.
3. The airflow slots are positioned relatively high, which has two benefits: it is less likely to leak e-liquid, and condensation is less likely to collect on the top surface of the mod.
4. Gold-plated posts provide lower resistance and faster heating.
Drawbacks:
1. The cap fits into the gap between the juice well and the outer shell. If it gets bumped, it could become difficult to remove or reinstall the cap, and that would be hard to fix. #p#Page Break#e#
Overall verdict:
The appearance is fairly conventional, but the materials feel generous and solid. It offers excellent flavor, thoughtful and user-friendly design, and convenient operation. It is currently one of the better dual-coil RDAs available.
