When it comes to Desire products, I used to remain focused on the Mad Dog atomizer line, and recently I also picked up the equally excellent Mad Dog 2 atomizer. Back to the topic: today I’m bringing you a review of Desire’s bottom-fed regulated BF box mod
Previously, I was immersed in the realm of the Mad Dog atomizer from Desire, and recently I acquired the Mad Dog 2, which is also an excellent atomizer! Back to the point! Today, I bring you the bottom-fed regulated box mod produced by Desire. The BF box mod has been popular in the market for some time, and most players choose it for its portability. Some players may have given up on BF boxes due to safety concerns with the previously popular mechanical BF boxes! However, Desire's regulated BF box is safe and user-friendly, so let's start with today's review of the Cutter regulated BF box.
【Packaging】
Desire's packaging box follows the current market trend of a flip-top box, with the main visual featuring an image of the device on the front, along with the prominent 108W power rating, making it quite clear at a glance.
Unlike before, the information on the back is listed in Chinese, including battery model, power output range of 5W-108W, voltage output range of 0V-8V, minimum resistance of 0.08Ω, temperature control range, etc.
Opening the lid reveals the black device that corresponds to the box. In addition to the black device, there are multiple color options available, with up to seven colors: black, red, blue, white, purple, green, and yellow!
The Cutter comes with minimal accessories: the CUT Squonk box mod (including a 21700 battery), an 18650 battery adapter, a USB charging cable, a user manual, and a warranty card.
【Device】
The Cutter BF box mod is made of aluminum alloy, with dimensions of 86mm*45mm*33mm and a weight of around 250g with the battery! The overall shape of the Cutter is somewhat irregular, resembling a rectangular shape that has been sliced! The front features a large display screen, with a breathing light below it marked with the Desire logo, and the charging port is also in the same view.
On the side, there are three red fire buttons and +/- adjustment buttons. The fire button is designed in the style of the Desire logo, providing clear and strong feedback, while the +/- adjustment buttons are slightly small but also responsive!
The back cover of the Cutter is secured with two strong magnets on the top and bottom, which are quite reliable! The paint on the back cover is slightly lacking, appearing a bit uneven! A thoughtful addition is that Desire provides us with their 21700 battery rated at 40A, 3.1V, with a high capacity of 3750mAh!
The Cutter uses a 510 standard interface with gold-plated electrodes, and the battery compartment is quite compact! The internal juice bottle has a large capacity of 7ML.
Desire's attention to detail is commendable, as the included 21700 battery also comes with an adapter for 18650 batteries!
The Cutter's display screen is 0.96 inches, and the modes available include VW/TC-NI/TC-TI/TC-SS/TCR/PMG, with a minimum resistance support of 0.08Ω. It is practical for large vapor production!
【Device Feel】
The overall feel of the Cutter as a single battery device is slightly on the heavier side, but this can be overlooked for safety during use! It is more suitable for right-handed operation, allowing you to easily squeeze the juice with your ring finger, making single-handed operation completely feasible! With the 21700 battery, the endurance of this bottom-fed box mod is more than sufficient!
Pairing it with the Desire Mad Dog 2 instantly elevates the aesthetic appeal! The burst capability can reach near-instant firing! Compared to mechanical devices, it may be slightly inferior, but since it is a box mod, there is no need to compare it with mechanical devices! Safety is the priority!
【Conclusion】
The Cutter bottom-fed BF box mod does have some minor shortcomings, such as the fire button not being lockable, which can lead to accidental activation in your pocket, and the lack of automatic recognition for the optimal wattage of the atomizer is a bit disappointing! However, these do not detract from the Cutter's excellent grip and high endurance as a BF box mod, making its advantages clearly outweigh its disadvantages! Therefore, it is highly recommended for those who enjoy bottom-fed box mods!
