SMOK TFV12 Baby PRINCE Review
As we all know, every brand has its flagship product or signature item, and these products are often used as the mainstay for subsequent product extensions. The TFV12 Baby PRINCE atomizer can be said to incorporate many classic and innovative design elements from SMOK's past and present. Most of the fun features of SMOK atomizers can be found in this product.
The TFV12 atomizer's extension product: TFV12 BABY PRINCE. As an extension of the TFV12, its packaging has been introduced multiple times. A close look at the product's main image reveals a significant change: against a red background, a sci-fi-inspired atomizer stands proudly, with half of a beast (bear) face visible on the front and left side. A diagonal view reveals a complete beast face, and it’s a beast wearing a crown, yet it still cannot hide its imposing presence.
The packaging includes:
The TFV12 BABY PRINCE main body, two spare atomizers, including a mainstream 0.15-ohm quadruple coil and a 0.15-ohm single mesh coil, a spare straight glass tank, a pack of spare O-rings, and a product manual/product card.
The TFV12 BABY PRINCE has a diameter of 22mm and a height of approximately 53.7mm. The overall size design does not have the bulky feel of the TFV series atomizers, but don’t underestimate this little guy. The TFV12 BABY PRINCE adopts a mainstream 510 drip tip interface design, and the factory includes a resin honeycomb drip tip. The craftsmanship and texture of the drip tip, as well as its internal structure, lean towards flavor-oriented design. The top-fill structure continues the locking mechanism from the previous generation TFV12 atomizer, making it more convenient and significantly reducing the chances of accidentally opening the oil cap during daily use. However, the craftsmanship of this structure on the TFV12 BABY PRINCE seems even more refined.
The two types of glass tanks differ not only in shape and size but also in oil capacity. The bulb glass tank can hold 4.5ml, while the standard glass tank can hold 3ml. This means that using the bulb tank provides an additional 50%/1.5ml (4.5ml total) oil capacity compared to the standard tank. The significance of having an extra 1.5ml of e-liquid for a vapor-focused atomizer is self-evident!
Both the silicone ring at the internal filling port and the locking spring are nearly flawless. The oil tank section comes standard with a "bulb tank," and although the atomizer is compact, this "bulb tank" allows for a maximum oil capacity of around 4.5ml, which is quite decent for oil storage.
In fact, the biggest highlight of the TFV12 BABY PRINCE atomizer is the three factory-standard coils. The 0.4-ohm coil is more focused on flavor performance, while the most interesting is the 0.15-ohm single mesh coil, which is rare in factory coils. It can be said to be a unique debut. Its flavor resolution is not inferior to mainstream flavor-focused coils, and its fast heating and large vapor production combined with good flavor resolution make the TFV12 BABY PRINCE stand out.
After saturating the coil with e-liquid and conducting a firing test, in a dim environment, the oil holes and airflow adjustment holes of the atomizer emit a red light. This effect is best observed in low-light conditions; in bright sunlight, the glowing core has little chance to shine. Thus, this glowing coil can also be referred to as a night coil, as it performs best in dim lighting.
This atomizer, aside from changes in size and details, differs significantly from previous products in the same line due to the two newly designed coil cores. One glows at night, and the other uses mesh for vaping, providing multiple uses and experiences, which is indeed a novel and unique experience, especially since the mesh core is used for the first time in a factory atomizer! The glowing coil is also a highlight of this atomizer. In terms of vapor performance, it continues the low-resistance, multi-coil, large vapor route of the beast family. The 4.5ml oil tank adds to its endurance and overall aesthetic appeal.
In previous TFV series atomizers, there were often issues with leaking and durability, possibly due to quality control problems. However, after using the TFV12 BABY PRINCE for a while, I did not encounter any significant leaking issues, indicating that SMOK is continuously improving.
Although the TFV12 BABY PRINCE is compact, it does not lose the violent wildness of the TFV series. If you don’t mind its small size or have compact devices to pair with it, I believe the TFV12 BABY PRINCE is a great choice for a factory atomizer.
