RELX 4th Gen vs 5th Gen: Pros, Cons, and Key Differences
Comparing the appearance of RELX 4th Gen and 5th Gen, the price is about the same, which is acceptable. However, it’s frustrating that the 5th Gen no longer includes wireless charging. It adds a small tidal light on the exterior, which looks decent while charging, but otherwise there are no major changes.
The pods for RELX 4th Gen and 5th Gen are cross-compatible, and the vaping experience is basically the same.
However, the 5th Gen pods seem to use the latest anti-leak structure. I’ll take one apart another day to have a look.
I recommend buying the 4th Gen. At the same price point, the 4th Gen has more obvious advantages. It offers more pod flavor options, and there are also various compatible third-party pods available to help solve out-of-stock issues.
For example, brands like Miwu and Weike. I tried using generic pods with the 5th Gen, and they didn’t seem very good. Maybe they haven’t been properly optimized yet. Also, the 5th Gen has fewer pod flavors and they are more likely to go out of stock, so personally I recommend buying the 4th Gen.

Appearance Comparison:
RELX 5th Gen uses a new rectangular pod, which is more comfortable and visually appealing than the RELX 4th Gen.
The body strength of the 5th Gen is noticeably improved compared with the 4th Gen.
Function Comparison:
The RELX 5th Gen adds a ring around the bottom charging port, which is a big improvement over the 4th Gen. I believe anyone who has used the RELX 4th Gen has probably encountered deformation of the 4th Gen charging port.
The body has one air hole on each side near the lower section, plus five holes on each side and five at the bottom of the upper body section. According to the official introduction, the air holes on the upper left and right sides of the body are designed to prevent leakage and condensation. I have not personally experienced how effective this feature is.
In terms of atomization performance, the RELX 5th Gen device has higher power than the RELX 4th Gen device. With more vapor production comes lower draw resistance and less throat hit. This means the 5th Gen consumes more e-liquid and provides weaker craving satisfaction than the 4th Gen.
There is no official battery data. These conclusions are based on my three days of hands-on testing.
