There’s a crackling sound when I vape, and there’s an oily-looking substance in the mouthpiece. It always feels like I might suck e-liquid into my mouth. Can anyone help? It keeps feeling like it’s spitting liquid into my mouth. After taking a puff and removing the mouthpiece, I wipe it with a tissue and there’s yellow residue on it. How to deal with condensation in the Zelas Nautilus 2 User reply:

When using the Nautilus, if you blow into the atomizer and vapor comes out of the airflow hole, that is basically the same as putting pressure on the coil head. The e-liquid gets forced into the cotton, and then it can leak out through the airflow hole. So when using the Nautilus, do not blow into the coil.

The crackling sound is the sound of e-liquid being vaporized. That yellow stuff is probably condensation, not e-liquid. Condensation is unavoidable, so all you can do is wipe it off regularly.

If there is too much condensation inside the drip tip, most experienced users will at least wipe it or flick it out, so this cause is relatively uncommon.

But there are also people who have used it for three months without ever cleaning the condensation inside the drip tip, so we should include that possibility too…… With the Nautilus, after about half a tank, if you pull off the drip tip you can usually see quite a lot of e-liquid-like residue.

That is condensation. If you don’t clean it, it builds up and can flow back down into the coil. There isn’t really a good solution for condensation at the moment; you can only wipe it off with tissue. So this is condensation, not leaking. Just remove the drip tip and wipe it or flick it out from time to time.

When heated e-liquid pops, it makes a crackling sound. Put your lips on the mouthpiece and inhale slowly, and you’ll notice the crackling gets much quieter. As for the oily-looking substance in the mouthpiece, as long as it isn’t getting into your mouth while you inhale, then it’s not e-liquid. That’s because each time you take a puff, the vapor is not completely drawn in; when it cools inside the mouthpiece, it turns back into condensed liquid. There’s really no way to avoid it. Just use tissue to absorb it more often, or blow it out directly.
